Tooth Sparkles: What Are They & Do They Work?

Let's get this out of the way first: We’re sorry, but no, Tooth Sparkles can’t completely replace your toothbrush.

Now to the good news: Jack N’ Jill Tooth Sparkles are a great, fun, way to clean and strengthen your teeth throughout the day. A perfect complement to your usual tooth brushing routine.

(and they can be used as a toothpaste alternative when required, we’ll get to that..)

At Jack N’ Jill Kids we are changing the game and taking the dread out of children's teeth care and overall oral hygiene. Tooth Sparkles are just the next product in the Jack N’ Jill line that have parents breathing a sigh of relief everywhere!

What Are Jack N’ Jill Tooth Sparkles?

We ♥ Teeth. It’s in our DNA. Naturally, we are super excited about this....

So, we’ve got tooth brushing down. Check.

How else can we support healthy teeth?

What about plaque build up during the day, in between brushing times?

This is where Tooth Sparkles.. Well.. Sparkle!

Tooth Sparkles are tooth cleaning calcium chews that help to clean and strengthen your teeth as you crush and chew!

Jack N' Jill Tooth Sparkles contain Vitamin D and 2 types of Calcium (Hydroxyapatite and Calcium Carbonate). Hydroxyapatite supports teeth re-mineralisation and Calcium Carbonate assists in healthy bone development and promotes healthy muscle function.

Just like our Jack N' Jill Toothpaste, Tooth Sparkles are packed with Xylitol and Vitamin D to assist teeth development.

A great supplement which can be used daily to compliment your kids brushing, the yummy strawberry flavour is sure to be a big hit with your little ones!

At Jack N’ Jill, we talk a lot about tooth brushing! Twice a day, after meals to remove food and slow down the buildup of plaque. But what if your toddler still resists the brush, or won’t let you brush for 2 minutes? How about when you aren’t near your bathroom... or a toothbrush? Like at daycare or school…

Chew! Chewing helps clean the teeth - it’s nature’s way of helping to keep teeth healthy, especially when chewing something mildly abrasive like an apple, or our Jack N’ Jill Tooth Sparkles

It actually tastes like candy... which is why you’ll find the bottle has a child-resistant closure!

PS. Jack N’ Jill Tooth Sparkles can also be used as a solid toothpaste (when away from home or traveling). Simply crush one table in mouth and brush teeth with a toothbrush for 2 minutes, then swallow.

Do Tooth Sparkles Really Work?

do jack n jill tooth sparkles work

Absolutely. Packed with ingredients that are instrumental for your teeth health, in a form that is mildly abrasive and chewable to help clean teeth, and with a taste that kids (and adults) will love.

Jack N’ Jill Tooth Sparkles are the perfect complement to your regular brushing routine and ideal for on the go teeth health.

In order to stay strong, teeth need to be kept healthy. Calcium from our diet strengthens teeth and enamel (as well as our bones!). Most calcium comes from dairy foods. In order for the body to actually absorb and utilise calcium from our diet, we need Vitamin D in our system. The body ‘manufactures’ most of its Vitamin D through exposure to sunlight. Sometimes we are concerned that our kids aren’t eating enough, especially the ‘right foods’. Also, we often avoid direct exposure to sunlight because we want to avoid harmful UV rays. Vitamin D deficiency is common all over the world (including developed countries!).

Jack N’ Jill Tooth Sparkles contain Vitamin D and 2 types of Calcium (Hydroxyapatite and Calcium Carbonate). Hydroxyapatite supports teeth remineralisation and Calcium Carbonate assists healthy bone development and promotes healthy muscle function!
Clean Teeth

Jack N’ Jill Tooth Sparkles are also packed with Xylitol, just like our toothpaste. Designed to be chewed/crushed and then swallowed on-the-go, like after lunch at daycare or school. Of course, they are naturally free from sugar, nuts, gluten and artificial sweeteners.

And the taste? SUPER YUM Strawberry!

Chewing helps clean the teeth, especially when chewing something mildly abrasive like an apple, or our Jack N’ Jill Tooth SparklesTM. Our crushable/chewable tablet has a gentle effect on the teeth to help clean. Swishing the crushed tablet around the teeth with your tongue is even better. Whilst chewing, saliva production increases, which also helps clean the mouth and neutralise acids (from food or bacteria in plaque).

Neutralising acids in the mouth slows down tooth decay!

What’s In Tooth Sparkles?

CALCIUM IN JACK N’ JILL TOOTH SPARKLES:

Jack N’ Jill Tooth Sparkles contains 2 forms of calcium (calcium carbonate and hydroxyapatite) for a total dose of 150mg per chewable tablet.
Hydroxyapatite is the main mineral component of tooth enamel.
Our bones are made up of up to 70% hydroxyapatite.
Hydroxyapatite is effective in reducing dental decay, especially in children. It has been found to be comparable to fluoride in its effectiveness but unlike fluoride it is safe to swallow.
Bioavailable calcium in the blood supports the healthy development of teeth and bones. Inclusion of hydroxyapatite in the diet has been shown to increase remineralisation of tooth enamel more effectively than calcium carbonate alone.

Dietary sources of Calcium: Milk, cheese, dairy and green leafy vegetables like Kale.

RDA (Recommended Daily Allowances):
Children’s Calcium RDA (total amount provided by a combination of diet and supplement)
1-3 years: 500mg per day
4-8 years: 700mg per day
9-13 years: 1000-1300mg per day

VITAMIN D3 (CHOLECALCIFEROL) IN JACK N’ JILL TOOTH SPARKLES:

The presence of Vitamin D3 in the body is critical in assisting teeth development and calcium absorption in bones.
Generally, it is common for dietary intake of Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol) to be inadequate.
Most Vitamin D3 in our bodies is derived from exposure to sunlight. Where exposure to sunlight is minimal, or a deficiency has been identified, RDA (from diet, sunlight exposure & supplements) should be at least 15mcg per day (600IU).
Vitamin D helps support the immune system and bone & teeth mineralisation. It influences tooth formation and crown development.
Vitamin D enables calcium to remineralise and strengthen tooth enamel. Vitamin D + Calcium supplements have been shown to reduce dental caries in children.

Dietary Sources of Vitamin D3: Wild fatty fish (Salmon, Herring, Mackerel), Liver, Eggs

RDA (Recommended Daily Allowances):
Children’s Vitamin D3 RDA (total amount provided by a combination of diet and supplement)
1-3 years: 10mcg (400IU)
4-13 years: At least 15mcg (600IU)

How to get daily Vitamin D3 from sunlight: A 6-7 minute walk with arms exposed to sun mid-morning or mid-afternoon in Summer. In Winter, as above, for up to 40 minutes at noon.

XYLITOL IN JACK N’ JILL TOOTH SPARKLES:

Reduces plaque formation by inhibiting Streptococcus Mutans - a bacteria found in the mouth which is responsible for plaque formation.
Xylitol increases saliva flow, which is rich in calcium. This enables tooth remineralisation and strengthening of tooth enamel.
